14 Days to Be a Better Shooter – Day 2

Day 2 – Handgun

Start off and do 10 loads and unloads with the handgun. THESE ARE NOT RELOADS.  This is like loading at the start of the day and unloading when you get home or something. Be sure to use correct technique!  We don’t want to develop a bad habit right of the bat by practicing wrong.  After you complete that – put a blindfold on.  It is EXTREMELY important you use a blindfold and not just shut your eyes.  This is so when you screw up you HAVE to solve it without your eyes.  If you just shut your eyes the temptation to cheat is too great.

After donning a blindfold do 10 more loads and unloads.  Remember to LEAVE THE BLINDFOLD ON!

Once you have completed that, do 10 more loads and unloads without the blindfold.

Next, don the blindfold once again and perform 20 more loads and unloads.

The final part of Day 2 is to perform 10 more loads and unloads, without the blindfold but NOT looking at the firearm.  Focus on a spot on the wall or something.

This concludes Day 2 with the handgun.

Day 2 – AR rifle

Start off and do 10 loads and unloads with the AR.  It is very beneficial at this point to use a dump for the carbines part of this exercise. REMEMBER – THESE ARE NOT RELOADS.  This is like loading at the start of the day and unloading when you get home or something. DAY 2 – AK pattern Rifle

14 days - day2

Part of the practice for Day 2 is performing load and unload drills while blindfolded. I am using swim goggles that I have taped up on the inside with blue painters tape.
